This is how Olivier Caracotch, public prosecutor of Dijon, sums up the Proxidentaire case – the dental center in Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur –, which began in 2021. At this stage, there are 16 people (both individuals and legal entities) under investigation and more than 70 people claim to be victims.
The main defendants are former treasurer Kevin Gainet and former president Jean-Christophe Marie. Dentists are also under investigation. "The main charge against patients is deception, aggravated by the fact that they made the service dangerous to human health," the prosecutor said. In addition, the charges include the illegal practice of dentistry and breach of trust.
